KLM traffic in August

A positive end to the summer months

Summary

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines ended off the busy summer months with positive traffic figures for August. The total number of passengers carried increased by 1.9% to more than 3 million. This growth was mainly achieved in Europe and North, Central and South America. Network-wide capacity growth was restricted to 1.8% in August, while traffic was up by 2.3% overall, lifting load factor just above 91.8%. 

KLM Cargo achieved a load factor of 65.9% in August. Capacity remained virtually stable, but cargo traffic was up 4.1%. KLM Cargo transported at total of 53,131 tonnes of freight to and from Schiphol, which is 3,7% more than in August last year.  

Transavia’s passenger figures declined by 3.6% in August, with traffic decreasing faster than capacity, resulting in slightly lower load factor (93.9%) than in August last year.
