KLM initiates preliminary relief proceedings

In response to a letter dated 1 November sent by KLM to the FNV Cabin Crew and VNC unions calling on the cabin unions to uphold their consultation obligations, KLM has received a response from FNV Cabin Crew indicating that it will not be complying with KLM’s demand for it to enter into consultation. VNC has indicated its intention to respond later in the day. KLM and the unions are governed by consultation obligations as specified in the applicable collective labour agreement.

In any event, this means that KLM will be initiating preliminary relief proceedings requesting the court to rule on the validity of the consultation obligations of the cabin unions under the applicable collective labour agreement.
