Cooperation Solid Between KLM and Etihad Airways

Dutch daily De Telegraaf today printed an article under the heading “Etihad Rejects KLM” (“Etihad wil niet met KLM”). This is wholly inaccurate. The same goes for the supposed statement by Peter Hartman about a joint venture with Etihad Airways.

Mr Hartman has always stated that he is in favour of developing new forms of joint ventures. The reason being that joint ventures developed in the 1980s are no longer suitable under current circumstances. At present, KLM and Etihad Airways are assessing what form of cooperation best suits them.

KLM recently began operating daily service to Abu Dhabi. To further cement intensive cooperation, Etihad will begin operating daily service between Abu Dhabi and Schiphol from 21 May, in code-share with KLM.
