KLM traffic figures: strong growth continues into March

Summary

KLM welcomed 8.7% more passengers on board its flights in March, compared to March 2017. A 7.4% rise in traffic (RPKs) and a 4.1% increase in capacity (ASKs), led to a substantial load factor increase of 2.8%pts.

The KLM Group ends an excellent first quarter of 2018 with these robust figures for March. Compared to the first quarter of 2017, passenger traffic in the KLM network has grown by 9.7%. This is a wonderful achievement, to which all our employees have contributed, despite the operational challenges presented by recent bad weather in Europe.

Transavia Nederland also saw solid growth in March, compared to the same month last year. With higher traffic in RPKs and increased capacity (ASKs), the airline ended with a higher load factor.

At KLM Cargo, the load factor increased by 0.5%pts  against a slight fall in traffic and lower capacity.
