KLM third quarter results 2019

KLM’s operating income for the third quarter of 2019 amounts to € 512 million. In absolute terms, this is a good result for our important third quarter thanks to all the hard work put in by many KLM employees during the busy summer months. However, it does represent a decrease of € 61 million in comparison with Q3 last year, due to higher costs – especially those related to fuel – and lower revenues per seat. Other factors contributing towards lower Q3 earnings include significantly reduced earnings and load factor for KLM Cargo.
Against a backdrop of rising costs and increasing pressure on revenues across the entire KLM Group, focusing on costs remains a top priority. This is vital in order to continue investing in the quality of our product, our people and our sustainability objectives.
