KLM flies Dutch Olympians to the Games in Rio de Janeiro

Summary

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines today flies 78 top athletes to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro aboard KLM’s Boeing 777 with a specially designed livery that is partly orange, the Dutch national colour. The flight departed from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at 11.00 for its direct flight to Rio, where the Games will be on from 5 through 21 August.

Captain Michiel Overvest and his crew welcomed the Olympic team on board and wished them the very best of luck and sporting success, unforgettable memories and, hopefully, lots of medals.

KLM will also be using its special orange aircraft to bring the Dutch Olympians back to Amsterdam aboard the “Medal Flight” on 22 August.
