KLM Cityhopper expands fleet with two new Embraers

Summary

On Saturday, 24 February, KLM Cityhopper welcomed the latest Embraer E175+, bearing registration PH-EXU, and the latest Embraer 190, bearing registration PH-EXV, at Schiphol. This brings the total number of Embraer aircraft in the KLC fleet to 45.

Delivery of the 14th Embraer E175+ and 31st Embraer E190 marks an important step in KLM’s innovative and ongoing process of fleet renewal. Having phased out the Fokker, KLM Cityhopper’s fleet now consists exclusively of Embraers. Based on its advanced technological features, the Embraer uses less fuel and thereby reduces CO2 emissions. Compared to the Fokker 70, the latest E175+ aircraft uses up to 22% less fuel.

The Embraer aircraft also support KLM’s customer focus. The new aircraft offer greater comfort and more space for passengers, therefore helping to create memorable journeys.

KLM Cityhopper currently operates the biggest Embraer fleet in Europe. By mid-2018, the overall KLC fleet will consist of no less than 49 aircraft produced by the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer. Delivery of the 46th Embraer is expected in March.
