Ms De Gaay Fortman nominated as member Supervisory Board KLM

Amstelveen, 31 March 2017 - KLM Royal Dutch Airlines today announced that the KLM Supervisory Board will, as proposed by the KLM Works Council, nominate Ms M. de Gaay Fortman as a member of the Supervisory Board of KLM N.V. at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 21 April 2017. Ms De Gaay Fortman will succeed Ms I. Asscher-Vonk, who will step down from the Supervisory Board on 21 April 2017. We thank Ms Asscher-Vonk for the important and valuable contribution she has made to KLM over the past 13 years.

Ms De Gaay Fortman is a Dutch citizen and is currently a legal partner and member of the Advisory Board at Houthoff Buruma in Amsterdam. She also holds seats on the supervisory board of De Nederlandsche Bank (Netherlands Central Bank) and GVB Amsterdam (the Amsterdam public transport authority; until May 2017). She is also chairperson of the Stichting Topvrouwen and lecturer at the Governance University. Ms De Gaay Fortman has extensive legal experience in the force field between the public and private sectors. She also has broad executive experience and expertise in the field of governance. In addition, she has an extensive social and cultural network, which assures her of a broad perspective on administrative relations and the societal and political forces influencing such relations.
