Airlines and airports affected by global computer outage
Update 16.00 (CET)
The IT malfunction that caused disruptions worldwide for airlines and airports today has been almost completely resolved at KLM. Air traffic to and from Schiphol can be fully resumed. However, many flights have been delayed or canceled out of necessity. These disruptions in the schedule are expected to continue this evening (CET) and into the weekend as we restart our flight operations. As a result, it is possible that we will need to cancel more flights to get the operation back on track. We advise passengers to keep an eye on flight information on the KLM.com website or in the KLM app. We are doing everything we can to ensure our passengers reach their travel destinations.

KLM announces that at this moment, limited air traffic is possible due to the global computer outage affecting various airlines and airports. This means that customers should expect delays and cancellations. We urge passengers not to come to the airport if their flight is not departing or is severely delayed. We understand that this causes significant inconvenience for our customers, especially now that the summer holiday season has just begun. KLM is working tirelessly to restore operations. We advise passengers to monitor the KLM.com website or the KLM app for the latest information regarding their flight.

KLM, like other airlines and airports, has been affected by the global computer outage, making it impossible to handle flights. We realize that, especially given the summer vacations, this is extremely inconvenient for our customers. We are working hard to resolve the problem. For now, we are forced to suspend most of the operation.
