Passengers on these flights are currently being informed and rebooked. Runway capacity is very limited at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol today. Passengers could therefore face delays during the day. We urge our passengers to keep a close eye on KLM.com for the latest updates on departure and arrival times.

statement,update,3 januari,westerstorm,klm,ENG

Once again, we have had to cancel 25 intercontinental flights and 105 European flights today. This results in part from the fact that many of our aircraft and crews are stuck at out stations while we need them at Schiphol. KLM is doing all it can to get back on schedule as quickly as possible and to bring our stranded passengers to their destinations as soon we can. The response time of our service centers is longer than you normally expect from us. We advise our passengers to check our website KLM.com regularly for up-to-date departure and arrival times. KLM encourages passengers to only come to the airport if their flight is actually scheduled to leave today.

statement,klm,update,vluchten,12 december,sneeuw,english

Flights to and from Denpasar can now be resumed. This can only be done if the aircraft avoid flying close to the dangerous ash cloud hanging above the volcano. Because the ash cloud is clearly visible during the day, KLM has adjusted its departure times from Denpasar to take place then.

On Friday morning (09:05 hours local time), KLM will operate its first flight (KL838) from Denpasar to Singapore (arriving 11:35 hours local time), continuing on to Amsterdam (arriving 19:35 hours local time). KLM is presently contacting its passengers personally, including passengers for whom their KLMticket forms part of a package deal booked by another travel organisation. Passengers who have already established contact with the KLM Social Media will be assisted accordingly.

KLM is doing everything possible to transport its passengers from Denpasar to their final destinations as soon as possible. </pp:boilerplate>

Erik Varwijk, Executive Vice President KLM Commercial: “Extensive research among KLM business class passengers revealed a clear need for a better, more comfortable service to enable passengers to work or relax on board. We are delighted to be able to meet our customers’ needs by offering in Europe Business Class a vastly improved, new, and comfortable product.”

More comfort and efficiency – A seat in the new Europe Business Class provides one-and-a-half-times more room than before, because the middle seat is always left empty and can no longer be reserved. Besides improving the level of comfort, this also offers business passengers more privacy. Moreover, every business class seat in the 737 fleet will soon be fitted with a socket to charge electrical appliances. KLM continues to offer Europe Business Class passengers greater efficiency by providing priority departure and arrival services, such as Premium Check-In, extra baggage allowances, access to airport lounges, and priority during boarding and baggage processing.

Improved catering – The menu and presentation of meals on board is being completely modernised. KLM is introducing a newly refined, high-quality menu containing a range of choices depending on the flight and departure time. Four menus will be served every month. The catering presentation is also changing. Meals will now be served on tableware designed by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, as they are in World Business Class. The collection is created in Wanders’ unique style and matches the quality standards of a top restaurant.

Europe Business Class is being introduced on all flights in Europe that are operated by KLM or KLM cityhopper. This amounts to around 500 flights a day to more than 60 destinations.

business,class,update,european
