Choice of five dishes

The “Anytime For You” menu consists of five dishes. The cold, warm, savoury, sweet and tasty-treats dishes can be prepared at any time (during daylight hours) and served in restaurant style. Passengers can also opt for a World Business Class three-course meal. Both menus are served by hand, ensuring that trolley use is kept to a minimum.

Personal service schedule

Cabin crew play an integral part in “Anytime For You”. They have completed special training in preparation for this new service. Crew set a personal service schedule in consultation with customers, ensuring that they have more control over their travel experience.

The flights will be operated with a Boeing 777-200. KLM will meet passenger needs by offering three different travel classes on board: 34 seats in World Business Class, 40 seats in Economy Comfort, and 242 seats in Economy Class. The Economy Comfort seats offer 10 cm more legroom and have double the recline of standard Economy Class seats. Economy Comfort passengers are also given priority when disembarking.

In the past, KLM operated service to Tehran from April 1948 through April 2013. Including the new flights to Tehran, KLM now offer 37 flights to nine destinations in the Middle East.

About Tehran
Tehran is the capital of Iran and, including its peripheral areas, is home to 13 million people. Iran has undergone major economic growth since January 2016, after international economic sanctions were largely lifted. The direct service between Amsterdam and Tehran offers new opportunities to companies seeking to do business in Iran.

The new flights also offer opportunities for tourism. Iran has a very rich culture, in which ancient and modern elements are combined. Iran hosts 21 UNESCO World Heritage sites. In Tehran, the most symbolic buildings in are the Azadi Tower (built during the Pahlavi era), the Borj-e Milad Tower and the Tabiat Bridge. Other highlights include the bazaar in the southern part of the city. The city’s cultural highlights include the Tehran Museum of Modern Art, the National Museum, the Golestan Palace which houses the Peacock Throne, the Sa’adabad Palace Complex and the Niavaran Palace.

New York
In 1946, KLM started with a daily flight to New York. In cooperation with our partner Delta Air Lines, KLM now operates four flights a day between Amsterdam and John F. Kennedy Airport. On this route, KLM and Delta Airlines each operate two flights a day. In addition, Delta operates daily service between Amsterdam and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Each year, KLM brings around 400,000 passengers to “New Amsterdam”, making it KLM’s top North-Atlantic destination. Together, KLM and Delta carry more than 750.000 passengers each year.

Our successful partnership with Delta Air Lines offers passengers an extensive network, ensuring swift and easy transfers to their chosen destinations. KLM recently added a new North American destination to its network: Salt Lake City, which is one of Delta’s five hubs. Via this hub, KLM offers its passengers seamless connections to more than 50 North American cities. From October 2016, KLM will also begin to offer service to Miami. The investment in new destinations ties in with KLM’s new network strategy. On the North American route KLM and Delta have 20 destinations in summer and 21 in winter: 15 in the United States, one in Mexico and five in Canada. For the first time in history more than 5.5 million passengers will travel between Amsterdam and North America with KLM and Delta.

New Messenger service
In addition to its new network strategy, KLM continues to innovate. KLM and Facebook Messenger recently took another step in the social media arena. With effect from 13 March, KLM passengers have been able to receive their booking and check-in confirmation, boarding cards and flight status reports via Facebook Messenger. In the first month alone, KLM passengers used the new Messenger service no less than 115,000 times.

The new KLM flights to Salt Lake City will supplement the existing daily flight between Salt Lake City and Amsterdam operated by Air France KLM’s Transatlantic Joint Venture partner Delta Air Lines. Salt Lake City is one of Delta’s five hubs. Thanks to its code-sharing partnership with Delta, KLM is able to offer its passengers seamless connections to more than 50 North American destinations via Salt Lake City.

About Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City is the capital and the most populous city in the state of Utah. The city was founded in 1847 by Mormons and its metropolitan area currently has a total population of 1.2 million. Salt Lake City has developed a strong tourist industry oriented towards outdoor recreation and, more specifically, skiing. Salt Lake City hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and is the gateway to numerous impressive national parks. Salt Lake City is also the industrial banking capital of the United States.

Flight schedules Amsterdam – Salt Lake City (local times)
From 5 May through 18 June and from 8 September through 29 October, the flights will depart from Amsterdam at 10.20 CET, arriving in Salt Lake City at 12.40 local time. The return flights will depart from Salt Lake City at 14.50 local time, arriving in Amsterdam at 08.20 CET the following morning.

From 23 June through 5 September, the flights will depart from Amsterdam at 12.30 CET, arriving in Salt Lake City at 14.50 local time. The return flights will depart from Salt Lake City at 16.50 local time, arriving in Amsterdam at 10.20 CET the following morning.

Ibiza at the height of the holiday season
Ibiza service will begin on 4 July 2016 and will continue until 25 August 2016. Flights will be operated on weekdays only. Ibiza will be available for booking from Wednesday, 16 December.

Flight schedule to Ibiza (all in local time)

• Departing Amsterdam 14.05 – Arriving in Ibiza 16.40;
• Departing Ibiza 17.30 – Arriving in Amsterdam 20.10;
• Aircraft type: Boeing 737-700.

The peakseason KLM operation to Ibiza is in addition to the existing Transavia Summer operations from Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Rotterdam.

About Colombia

AIR FRANCE KLM
In addition to the new direct KLM services between Amsterdam and Colombia, passengers can fly to and from Bogotá and Cali seven times a week with AIR FRANCE via Paris Charles de Gaulle, or with Copa Airlines via Panama City, connecting with KLM’s daily service between Amsterdam and Panama.

The AIR FRANCE KLM Group serves 15 destinations in Central and South America departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Panama City, Lima, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile and Bogotá (all served by both KLM and Air France), Quito, Guayaquil, Paramaribo and Cali (served by KLM), and Brasilia, Caracas, Cayenne and Montevideo (served by Air France).

Flights to Edmonton will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and, from 26 June, on Fridays. Responding to customer demand, KLM is offering three different classes onboard the A330-200: 30 seats in World Business Class; 178 seats in Economy Class; and 35 seats in Economy Comfort Zone (10 cm extra legroom, a backrest that can recline twice as far and priority disembarkation).

Flight Schedule
The flight from Amsterdam departs at 14:45 hours and lands in Edmonton at 15:45 hours local time. The return flight departs at 18:10 hours from Edmonton and lands the next day at 10:45 hours in Amsterdam.

The Air France-KLM Group serves five destinations in Canada from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle: Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal (operated by KLM and Air France), and Calgary and Edmonton (operated by KLM).

Air France-KLM has a codeshare agreement with the Canadian airline WestJet. This provides passengers with up to 30 extra routes within Canada which connect to the Air France-KLM network.

About Edmonton
Edmonton is the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta and Canada’s fifth largest city after Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary. It is the most significant economic centre in North Alberta and an important city for the gas and petroleum industry.

Edmonton also has a growing technology sector, which includes such companies as IBM, Dell and General Electric. Finally, the city boasts the largest indoor shopping centre in North America, the West Edmonton Mall, and the largest historical park in Canada, Fort Edmonton Park.

KLM has cancelled flights. Some flights have been delayed. Passengers are advised to check their travel information on KLM.com before travelling to the airport.  

KLM will do its utmost to assure that the impact of this power outage will remain as limited as possible.

The Platinum Service Line is available Monday to Friday from 08:00 hours to 20:00 hours and on Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 17:30. Platinum members are being personally informed about how they can access this service.

Once passengers with the KLM smartphone app on their phones have switched on Bluetooth and connected to the internet, they receive a notification asking them if they need help to find their next gate when passing a beacon. The app shows them the route they need to take. It also tells them how long it will take them to walk there, so that they can then take this into account. The unique indoor navigation service even works if the passenger’s flight is departing from a different level. The route and time are updated every time the passenger passes a beacon.

The service is currently available for Android smartphones and will be available for iOS in the near future. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol offers free wifi.

KLM has more than 10 million fans and followers on social media. KLM has more than 6 million fans on Facebook, and crossed the 1 million follower mark on Twitter last month. KLM receives more than 35,000 mentions a week on social media, around 4,500 of which are queries, which are handled by 130 service agents, who are available 24/7. Customers can contact KLM in one of ten different languages: Dutch, English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Norwegian, Russian and Japanese.

The addition of Norwegian and Russian allows KLM to offer even better service in  those markets. After all, Norway is an extremely important market for KLM. Following the addition of Ålesund last April, KLM now flies to seven Norwegian destinations. And social media are hot in Russia. Many Russians are plugged into Facebook, Twitter and their very own platform, VKontakte (vk.com). It is for this reason that KLM has chosen to provide extra service to its Russian customers on this growing platform. It makes KLM one of the first companies in Russia to use social media as part of its customer service.

KLM now provides service on Facebook and Twitter in nine languages: English, Dutch, Spanish, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, and now Russian and Norwegian as well. To provide even better service to more customers, KLM will continue to expand the number of languages.

Ålesund has a strong and growing (offshore) business market, but is also a very interesting tourist destination with its famous Jugendstil city centre and nearby Geiranger Fjord. Other highlights are the “Hurtigruten” ferry service and panoramic Atlanterhavsveien “Atlantic road”. The region also offers many winter sports opportunities.

The daily flights will be operated with a Fokker 70 with 72 seats available. The flight will depart at 14:25 in Amsterdam as KL1325 to arrive in Ålesund at 16:30. At 17:05 the return flight (KL1326) will leave to arrive in Amsterdam again at 19:15.
In the evening at 20:40 the KL1327 will depart from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to arrive in Norway at 22:45. The next morning the KL1322 will leave Ålesund at 6:30 AM to go back to Amsterdam again at 8:45 AM.

At Amsterdam Schiphol Airport passengers can easily transfer to over 160 destinations including cities that are important for the large off shore industry in Ålesund like Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Luanda, Manila and Dubai.
 

The Amsterdam-Dallas/Fort Worth service will be operated five times a week, using an Airbus A330-200. Flight KL669 departs from Amsterdam at 10.30 hrs CET and arrives in Dallas/Fort Worth at 13.50 hrs LT. The return flight, KL670, leaves Dallas/Fort Worth 15.45 hrs LT and arrives in Amsterdam at 08.00 CET the next day.

KLM first began operating scheduled service to Dallas/Fort Worth in March 2008. During the past winter, KLM and its Transatlantic Joint Venture partner Delta Air Lines decided that this route would only be served in summer. The key reasons being fluctuating seasonal demand and industry-wide overcapacity in the transatlantic market.

The flights can be booked via www.klm.com. Flying Blue members who book travel to Dallas/Fort Worth in May and June will earn double FB miles.

With more than 260 transatlantic flights a day, operated by a fleet of 144 aircraft, the Transatlantic Joint Venture (JV) between AIR FRANCE KLM, Alitalia and Delta Air Lines offers customers the benefit of a sprawling network. With more flights, attractive rates and seamless services for transatlantic travel. The JV network is structured around seven main hubs: Amsterdam, Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York-JFK, Paris-CDG and Rome Fiumicino.

A Martinair B747-400 freighter will be deployed on this unique route and has been decorated in a specially designed livery, that not only reflects the Safari Connection but also the partnership between KLM and Kenya Airways. The roundtrip service will be operated twice weekly. The freighter has a maximum capacity of 110 tonnes.

“Thanks to the flexibility that the Martinair freighters offer the KLM Group, we can respond swiftly to market opportunities. This is very important in the current circumstances. This shows that the KLM Group intends to keep investing and innovating, thereby retaining an important role in the airfreight market. Naturally, we are also assessing opportunities to expand to other regions, such as Latin-America,” says Camiel Eurlings, managing director of KLM.

The new service will especially benefit Facebook and Twitter fans and followers in Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru and Spain, as well as Spanish speakers in the US. Facebook and Twitter have proved their worth repeatedly in recent times. Aside from responding to questions communicated by customers, these social media channels can be used to rebook, cancel and/or book extra baggage capacity on flights.

The Spanish service will also be available 24/7. Future plans include expanding the number of languages offered via social media. The response target is to answer questions within the hour and to find solutions within 24 hours. 

Starting 15 May 2012, flight KL561 will depart from Schiphol on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 12:30 hrs, arriving in Lusaka the same day at 22:10 hrs. The return flight, KL562, will depart Lusaka at 23:55 hrs on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights and arrive in Amsterdam at 09:55 hrs the next morning.

Zambia is experiencing strong growth, thanks to its vigorous mining industry. Moreover, this new destination for KLM will create a direct link between Zambia’s flourishing flower industry and the Netherlands, which is the largest junction in the worldwide flower industry.
Zambia also offers a wide variety of tourist attractions. Tourism in Zambia is centred around the city of Livingstone, located on the banks of the Zambezi river and close to the famed Victoria Falls.

Together with Kenya Airways, KLM offers another thirteen flights a week to Lusaka via Nairobi. Thanks to the partnership with Kenya Airways, KLM and Air France can offer an extensive network throughout Africa. The alliance flies to many destinations including Harare, Mombassa, Lilongwe, and Bujumbura.

Followers can approach KLM – in English or Dutch – via any of these channels, with questions on topics such as baggage, seat reservations and re-booking of ticket. They will receive a reply within an hour, and any problems will be resolved within 24 hours. Until recently, this service was available from 08.00 hrs until 23.00 hrs CET, but as of today customers can contact KLM 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world, via the above channels.

KLM also uses the above social media to update customers on the latest KLM news, special offers and other fun campaigns.

From the start of the winter season, KLM will operate direct service three times a week to and from Galeao Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport in Rio de Janeiro.

Flight KL705 will depart from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10:40 hours, arriving in Brazil the same day at 19:30 hours. The return flight (KL706) will depart from Rio de Janeiro on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 21:40 hours, arriving in Amsterdam the following day at 11:55 hours.

The flights will be operated using Boeing 777-200ER equipment, offering capacity for 318 passengers: 35 in World Business Class and 283 in Economy Class. Flights to Rio de Janeiro can be booked from 15 June 2011 using the reservations systems or online via www.klm.com.

Air France KLM’s codeshare partner GOL offers connecting flights from Rio to an extensive, expanding number of destinations in Brazil.

“We have seen that customers would like the option of a business class product on flights to and from Aruba. To meet the different demands of our passengers we will operate KLM flights alongside the Martinair service on this route,” explains Peter Hartman, KLM President & CEO.

The flight, number KL0783, will depart from Amsterdam on Mondays and Thursdays at 09:35 hours and will arrive in Aruba at 14.15 hours on the same day. The return flight with the same flight number will depart from Aruba on Mondays and Thursdays at 15:25 hours, arriving in Amsterdam the next day at 08:00 hours.

Flight KL835 will depart from Amsterdam at 21:00 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, arriving in Denpasar the following day at 20:10.
The return flight, KL836, will depart from Denpasar at 21:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, arriving at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at 08:00.

Bali is a popular destination among Dutch and other European holidaymakers. This is the main reason why KLM has resumed service to this destination. Together with the daily service to Jakarta, KLM will operate a total of 10 flights to Indonesia as of 6 December.

Reservations can be made as of 3 October. Passengers who book before 15 November will get a special introduction fare of EUR 599 per person.
