]]>Earlier this year, KLM introduced Meet & Seat, becoming the first airline to integrate social networks and flight data. KLM has now supplemented this “social seating” service with a Trip Planner platform facilitating “social booking”.

Planning a trip with friends can be quite a challenge, but KLM Trip Planner makes this fun and easy. The delegated trip organiser selects a groups of travellers among their Facebook friends. After choosing a destination, various travel dates and available ticket prices, the organiser asks the selected friends to indicate which of the options has their preference. The booking can subsequently be made very simply in a secure section of klm.com, without having to email, text or phone an agent.

The KLM Trip Planner can also help customers find a suitable destination. Based on the group’s members and their interests, KLM offers three suggestions that vary depending on the main purpose of the trip, whether it be shopping, attending a football match or some other activity.

The user-friendly online application has been designed to allow customers to create their own SkyTeam Round the World itineraries, using the extensive networks of all 14 SkyTeam member airlines.

]]>Two versions of the Round the World planner have been developed. Both enable customers to build tailor made itineraries in compliance with SkyTeam’s Round the World fare products, terms and conditions. Customers can access the application via the recently refreshed skyteam.com, while a customized version for travel agents can be accessed via the newly created dedicated skyteam.biz website.

The Round the World Planner is another example of SkyTeam’s focus on actively improving products and services for its customers. “With hundreds of destinations to choose from, SkyTeam can take our customers wherever they want to go whenever they want to go, whether they are traveling for business or pleasure,” said Mauro Oretti, SkyTeam’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Our new planner has been developed to maximize customers’ potential travel opportunities, whilst minimizing the complexity of planning a Round the World itinerary.”

The SkyTeam Round the World planner intuitively guides users through every step of planning an itinerary, which once saved can be printed or emailed.
