KLM and Delta Air Lines are concluding this special event by announcing that they are the official airline partners of WorldPride 2026 in Amsterdam. The event is expected to attract 2 million visitors and will once again put Amsterdam on the international map as a city where everyone can be themselves, 25 years after the legalization of marriage for same-sex couples.

]]>WorldPride 2026 promises to be the largest Pride ever held in Amsterdam. As the official airline partner, KLM, together with partner Delta Air Lines, is supporting WorldPride 2026 and will bring thousands of passengers from all over the world to Amsterdam.

WorldPride is an international event that takes place in a different city every two to three years. After the 2025 edition in Washington, Amsterdam will follow as the host city in 2026. This edition marks several anniversaries: 25 years since the first marriage between same-sex couples, 30 years of Pride Amsterdam, and 80 years of COC Netherlands, the world’s oldest existing LGBTQI+ organization.

]]>The agreement was signed at the ABN AMRO head office by Gerrit Zalm, Chairman of the Managing Board of ABN AMRO and Pieter Elbers, President & CEO of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

The corporations that participate in the KLM Corporate BioFuel Programme pay a surcharge that covers the price difference between sustainable biofuel and traditional kerosene. This investment is fully utilised by KLM to purchase sustainable biofuel, which is added to the fuel pumped into KLM aircraft at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and elsewhere. Consequently, the participating corporations reduce CO2 emissions resulting from their business travel, but also contribute to the further development of the biofuel market.

The sustainable biofuel for the KLM Corporate BioFuel Programme is supplied by SkyNRG, a company founded by KLM in 2010. To make the right decisions now and in the future, SkyNRG is structurally advised by an independent Sustainability Board, consisting of the Dutch wing of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-NL), Solidaridad and the Energy Academy Europe.

The KLM Corporate BioFuel Programme was established in 2012. In addition to ABN AMRO, the programme’s partners are Accenture, CBRE, FMO, FrieslandCampina, City of Amsterdam, Heineken, Loyens & Loeff, Nike, PGGM, Perfetti Van Melle and the Schiphol Group. KLM aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% in 2020 (compared to 2011), by way of fleet renewal, utilisation of sustainable biofuel, and improved flight efficiency. KLM is already an industry leader in fuel efficiency and the use of sustainable biofuel.

Dionne Vorst, whose previous appointments include HR management positions at KLM, has been appointed as the Director of Luchtvaart College Schiphol. She succeeds Jeroen Ankersmit and Judith Kronenburg, who shared the position of Director. Jeroen Ankersmit will continue to remain involved, in addition to his position as chairman of the Management Board of MBO College Airport and MBO College Amstelland.

Knowledge centre for 'working & learning'
The involvement of KLM, with its ever-growing network and programme expansion, means that Luchtvaart College Schiphol can now rightfully call itself the knowledge centre for 'working & learning' in the aviation sector. With the employment and study programmes that are developed for companies, it is the aim of Luchtvaart College Schiphol to set people in motion. These programmes give aviation sector employees a means of retaining the required knowledge and skills, while also ensuring that the influx of new workers matches the needs of the industry in both a qualitative and quantitative sense. The Employers' Service Desk for Greater Amsterdam (Werkgevers Service Punt Groot Amsterdam) works directly with Luchtvaart College Schiphol to facilitate the placement of jobseekers who set to work as part of a specific, airport-oriented (vocational) training programme.

Recent achievements
Luchtvaart College Schiphol has been developing employment and study programmes for the aviation sector since 2007, including eight new senior secondary vocational (MBO) training programmes for airport security officers, air cargo and facilities employees, two custom-designed accelerated MBO programmes for airport retail staff and management assistants, and three tailored education portals for companies. Each year the college teaches 600 students, provides work experience placements for 300 students and gives training or instruction to 1,000 employees.

]]>From its home base in Beirut, MEA flies to 30 international destinations throughout Africa, the Middle East and Europe. MEA’s membership of SkyTeam makes it easier for customers to travel to and from Lebanon, whether it’s for business or leisure. This especially benefits the large Lebanese communities living in the US, Canada and Brazil, who will be able to connect via the major hubs Paris CDG and Rome. Beirut is served by SkyTeam members Alitalia, Air France, Aeroflot, Saudia and TAROM, providing additional connections via their hubs in Europe and the Middle East.
