                        <title>Alexandre de Juniac recommended to become Director General and CEO of the International Air Transport Association (IATA)</title>

Alexandre de Juniac indicated he would accept the proposal, which is due to be discussed at the IATA General Meeting (1-3 June 2016).</p>
]]></pp:summary><description><![CDATA[<p>The Air France-KLM Group&rsquo;s Board of Directors has prepared a plan to appoint a successor to Mr. de Juniac given his imminent appointment as the IATA Director General and CEO, from 1 August 2016 at the latest. According to the Air France-KLM Board&rsquo;s internal rules, the Air France-KLM Appointments and Governance Committee - with the help of an international recruitment consultancy - has initiated the process of identifying the best executive able to continue the Group&rsquo;s consolidation and development.</p>

<p>Members of the Air France-KLM Group&rsquo;s Board of Directors would like to pay tribute to the outstanding work of Alexandre de Juniac in achieving the Group&rsquo;s economic and financial recovery, enhancing its range of services and winning back customers. The Air France-KLM Board is delighted that these accomplishments have been recognized in the confidence of the IATA Board of Governors&rsquo; recommendation for Alexandre de Juniac to lead their global association. ]]></pp:summary><description><![CDATA[<p>Amongst these resolutions, as proposed by its Appointments Committee, the Board has decided to submit a resolution to renew, for a further four-year term, the mandate of Alexandre de Juniac, Air France-KLM&rsquo;s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.</p>

<p>In addition, the Board has launched a process to strengthen the Air France-KLM Group&rsquo;s governance to enable more interaction and consistency between Air France-KLM, Air France and KLM. To this end, Mr. Hans Smits, Chairman of the KLM Supervisory Board, will be systematically invited to attend Air France-KLM Board meetings; Mr. Pierre-Francois Riolacci, Air France-KLM&rsquo;s Chief Financial Officer, will be systematically invited to attend meetings of the KLM Supervisory Board; and Mr. Alexandre de Juniac, Chairman and CEO of Air France-KLM, will be systematically invited to attend meetings of the Air France Board of Directors.</p>

<p>Lastly, the Board expressed its full support for Alexandre de Juniac and his ambitions for Air France-KLM, which include improving competitiveness within the framework of Perform 2020, enhancing the quality of customer service, involving all the Group&rsquo;s teams in these projects, and pursuing Air France-KLM&rsquo;s development as a major player in the global airline industry.</p>]]></description><category><![CDATA[juniac,chairman,airfrance,klm]]></category>
