                        <title>Dutch tournament on European Tour now called Dutch Open</title>

This year, the 101st edition of this international tournament will take place in the Netherlands under the name, the Dutch Open, with namesake KLM taking on a different role. If this prestigious event gets the greenlight, the Dutch Open will be played from 16 to 19 September at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt.</b></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>KLM is taking a step back but will remain affiliated with the tournament as a business partner. &ldquo;The tournament has become a very effective and integral part of KLM&rsquo;s commercial operations, just like running and the arts and culture,&rdquo; says Harm Kreulen, Director of KLM Netherlands. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a platform for dialogue with customers and business associates and will remain so, but KLM has decided to play a more modest role this year due to the situation in which we find ourselves.&rdquo;</span></span></span></p><p><span><span>As Covid-19 is still a factor, the Dutch Open will of course be organised in compliance with the guidelines of the RIVM (the Netherlands&rsquo; national public health authority) as they apply in September. ]]></pp:summary><description><![CDATA[<p>The first Dutch Open took place in 1912. In 1981, the tournament was supported by its first title sponsor making it the KLM Dutch Open. KLM served as the tournament&rsquo;s title sponsor up to and including 1990. In 2004, the airline resumed this position. Since then KLM has served as the title sponsor of the biggest international golfing tournament on Dutch soil. The 2019 anniversary edition welcomed more than 50,000 spectators, who were able to enjoy four days of top golfing. It remained exciting until the last moment &ndash; only after the last put and ahead by only one shot, Sergio Garcia became the winner of the 100<sup>th</sup> tournament.</p><p><strong>About the 2020 KLM Open</strong></p><p>The 101<sup>st</sup> edition of the KLM Open will be held from 17 through 20 September 2020 at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, close to Den Bosch. The KLM Open will run until 11 September. This is the 97<sup>th</sup> edition of the tournament and the 13<sup>th</sup> consecutive time that KLM is the title sponsor.</p>
]]></pp:summary><description><![CDATA[<p>The four-day event will feature such golfing names as Joost Luiten, Thomas Pieters, and Chris Wood. Parallel with the golf tournament, KLM will organise a variety of seminars for its business relations &ndash; from Dutch entrepreneurs to Chinese business partners living and working in the Netherlands.</p>

<p>There will be even more activities alongside the tournament. The Golf Academie will offer free golf lessons and children will be able to enjoy the RAAK Golf and Amusement park. Do you prefer good food? Take a walk past the food trucks to get a surprising selection of cuisines.</p>

<p><strong>A world&rsquo;s first: Beat the Pro</strong><br />
What&rsquo;s more the KLM Open is offering a world premi&egrave;re in the form of &ldquo;Beat The Pro&rdquo;. For the first time in the tournament&rsquo;s history, amateurs can go head-to-head with professional golfers. They will have that opportunity on two days of the tournament &ndash; on Thursday 8 September and Saturday 10 September. The event will take place at the course&rsquo;s 14<sup>th</sup> hole, which will be transformed into a veritable stadium complete with stands, a bar, and live music. In contrast with standard practice on the other holes, the audience will be encouraged to cheer the pros and their competitors on as noisily as they like.</p>

]]></pp:summary><description><![CDATA[<p>The golfers of the European Tour will again converge in Zandvoort for the KLM Open from Thursday, 10 through Sunday, 13 September. For the 12<sup>th</sup> consecutive year, KLM will again be organising this year&rsquo;s tournament at the Kennemer Golf & Country Club. Notwithstanding a brief absence, this will be the 22<sup>nd</sup> event linking KLM&rsquo;s name to the tournament. Next year, the event will relocate to &lsquo;The Dutch&rsquo; in Spijk.</p>

<p>During the KLM Open, KLM also organises a selection of seminars for its business relations, varying from Dutch entrepreneurs to Chinese business relations living and working in the Netherlands. &ldquo;At least a third of our frequent flyers play or are interested in golf. The tournament provides KLM with a platform to engage in dialogue with our business partners and customers in an informal atmosphere,&rdquo; says Harm Kreulen, Director KLM The Netherlands.</p>

<p><strong>&lsquo;Putt&rsquo; your World Deal</strong><br />
Visitors can &lsquo;putt&rsquo; their favourite World Deal at the KLM Square to stand a chance of winning two tickets to one of many exciting destinations, including Bonaire and Curacao. Illusionist Victor Mids will also be performing at the KLM Square on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.</p>

<p><strong>Special admission prices</strong><br />
On Thursday and Friday, students and NGF members in the 65+ category can gain entry to the KLM Open at a price of only &euro;10. And a special daily rate will be offered to families this year. For example, family tickets will be available on Thursday for only &euro;30.</p>
