KLM has over 25 million fans and followers on various social media platforms. Through these channels, KLM receives over 100,000 mentions every week, 15,000 of which are questions or remarks. These are personally answered by more than 250 service agents, who form the world’s largest, dedicated social media team. On WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, LinkedIn, WeChat and KakaoTalk (Korean), KLM offers her customers a 24/7 one-stop-shop in nine different languages: Dutch, English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The smart audio luggage tag automatically provides visitors with location based verbal tips on how to traverse the city. The specially designed location-aware audio luggage tag consists of an offline GPS module and a speaker. While you’re walking or cycling through the city, it offers the right tip at the right location at the right time. All over Amsterdam, KLM plotted the voice of their caring crew at spots where people can use some extra assistance. A visitor can simply attach the tag to her/his luggage or clothes.

</pp:summary>

Personal tips at your side in the city

KLM’s ambition to be the most customer-centric European airline, led to the development of a device that expands the service of its crew beyond planes and airport. KLM crew filled the KLM Care Tag with hundreds of practical tips about the city of Amsterdam. Not the standard tourist tips, but insightful tips ranging from busy intersections with a lot of cyclists, where and how to lock your bike and when you have to watch out for pickpockets. But also more lighthearted tips such as where to taste local food for free, where to see great street art or where to rent a bike or boat. With the Care Tag you always have someone that guides you through the city.

Busy Amsterdam

Over the last couple of years Amsterdam has rapidly become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. January this year for the first time over 1 million people visited the city. By the year 2025 this will increase with 30%. Together with Paris and Lisbon it hosts the most visitors per inhabitant in Europe.

Limited availability

The KLM care tag can only in September be ordered online for free by passengers who travel to Amsterdam. Passengers who are interested, can simply order it, but availability is limited. The first batch of Care Tags will only be available in English but later this year there will be more Care Tags available in Chinese, Portuguese, German and Russian.

	About KLM

	KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was founded in 1919, making it the world's oldest airline operating under its original name. In 2004, Air France and KLM merged to form AIR FRANCE KLM. The merger produced the strongest European airline group based on two powerful brands names and hubs —Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle. The two airlines collaborate on three core activities while maintaining their own identities — passenger transport, cargo, transport, and aircraft maintenance.

	In the Netherlands, KLM comprises the core of the KLM Group which further includes KLM cityhopper and transavia.com. KLM serves 135 destinations using a modern fleet of 157 aircraft and employs over 33,000 people around the world. KLM is a leader in the airline industry, which offers reliable operations and customer-oriented products resulting from its policy of enthusiasm and sustainable innovation.

	KLM is a member of SkyTeam, an airline alliance offering a network of 926 destinations in more than 173 countries. The KLM network connects the Netherlands to every important economic region around the world and, as such, serves as a powerful driver for the Dutch economy.

Over the coming months, SkyPriority will launch at all of KLM and Air France’s 235 airports around the world. From 2013, SkyPriority will be available at the more than one thousand SkyTeam destinations.

“With SkyPriority, we can offer our most loyal passengers an improved travel experience,” says Erik Varwijk, KLM’s managing director. “Travel includes everything from check-in desk to baggage carousel, and we make it all faster and easier. We can offer our SkyTeam customers an even better, more consistent product.”

Travellers can see the SkyPriority mark on their boarding pass and know immediately if they qualify for this special service. From check-in to departure, they can follow the red SkyPriority signs so they can check in, drop off their bags, and board faster and easier. What is more, SkyPriority makes it easier for airport staff to recognise and assist passengers.

SkyTeam is the first airline alliance to offer consistent priority services worldwide, in which all member airlines take part. All SkyTeam airlines have established their implementation dates and introduction periods.
