Istanbul Atatürk Airport opens again for foreign carriers

Istanbul Atatürk Airport opened again this afternoon for foreign carriers. The airport had opened this morning for Turkish airlines. Flight KL1617 from Amsterdam to Istanbul will leave this evening as scheduled.

Istanbul Atatürk airport reopened this morning for Turkish airlines. KLM cancelled its return flights of today from Amsterdam to Istanbul (KL1613 and KL1614).

All KLM passengers travelling to and from Istanbul have been rebooked through Istanbul’s other airport (Istanbul Airport Sabiha Gökçen, SAW). KLM passengers leaving from or travelling to Istanbul are welcome to make use of the rebooking arrangement. KLM advises passengers to consult KLM.com for the latest flight information.

As a result of the explosions at Istanbul Ataturk airport this evening, the KL1617 from Amsterdam to Istanbul has returned to Amsterdam. KLM’s flight KL1610 from Istanbul to Amsterdam of Wednesday 29 June has been cancelled.

KLM handling staff and crew were not at the airport during the explosions and are safe and accounted for.

Zaventem Airport in Brussels remains closed following two explosions there. KLM has cancelled all of today’s and tomorrow´s flights to and from Brussels. KLM has extended its rebooking arrangement until 31 March 2016. We advise that our passengers follow the KLM website for the latest information, and not to travel to Brussels Airport at this time. Zaventem Airport in Brussels remains closed following two explosions there. Passengers on KLM flight 1722 from Brussels to Amsterdam have disembarked and have been evacuated from the terminal. KLM has cancelled all of today’s and tomorrow´s flights to and from Brussels. KLM has extended its rebooking arrangement until 31 March 2016.
