The bottles bear labels depicting paintings from Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum. Reflecting the theme of Spring, the five paintings were produced by well-known Dutch painters of the Golden Age.

]]>The paintings featured on the labels of these exceptional bottles of wine include The Little Street (Het Straatje) by Johannes Vermeer and Girl in a Large Hat (Meisje met een Brede Hoed) by Caesar Boëtius van Everdingen. Each wine is associated with a painting that reflects the flavour of the wine. For instance, Girl in a Large Hat represents a fresh Esterházy Grüner Veltliner wine.

The five Spring wines were selected by KLM’s own Wine Panel for World Business Class. The panel tests the wine’s quality, paying special attention to the change in taste that occurs at high altitude.

KLM enjoys bringing its passengers in touch with the richness of the Dutch culture through its products and services. The partnership between the Activin Wine Group and the Rijksmuseum contributes towards this aim.

The labels on the bottles will feature paintings by Dutch Masters from the Golden Age. This was celebrated with a festive wine tasting and dinner at the Mauritshuis in The Hague.

]]>KLM joined hands with its supplier, the Activin Wine Group, and the Mauritshuis to mark their unique partnership in the company of selected journalists. The paintings on the labels include works by Rembrandt van Rijn and Johannes Vermeer, whose works are exhibited alongside those of other Dutch masters in the Mauritshuis, attracting tourists from around the world to this superb museum.

The unique wine labels are intended to kindle KLM passengers’ enthusiasm for Dutch culture and tempt them to visit the superb “Dutch Masters” exhibition at the Mauritshuis, where the depicted works will be on display in their full glory.
