With this result, AIR FRANCE KLM maintains its position as one of the 24 most sustainable corporations in the world.

AIR FRANCE KLM focuses on four key themes: reducing its impact on the environment; integration of sustainable development in products and services; fostering of responsible personnel policy; and sustainable societal contributions in the areas where the Group is active.

As part of its latest innovative developments, KLM this year again operated a new series of flights using sustainable biofuel and, in December 2013, entered into a partnership with UNICEF. Developments surrounding the biofuel flights would not be possible without cooperation between KLM and various partners, including the Dutch chapter of the World Wide Fund for Nature (since 2007) and partners participating in the KLM’s Corporate Biofuel Programme.

In this way Air France-KLM perpetuates the ranking at the 24 most sustainable companies in the world.

Air France-KLM is concentrating on four main issues: reducing its environmental footprint, integrating sustainable development into its products and services, promoting a responsible human resources policy and contributing to the territories where the Group operates.

Among the innovating initiatives taken recently, KLM has operated long-haul flights using sustainable biofuel and both airlines have introduced a uniform recycling scheme. Air France has also continued investing in making its aircraft lighter, thus reducing its environmental impact.

The Air France-KLM group has been part of the DJSI since 2005 and is also integrated in the non-financial indexes Vigeo, ASPI, ESI Excellence and FTSE4Good.

Thanks to its performance, the group is also leader of the broader "Transport and leisure" sector for the fourth year running. This distinction ranks the 19 most responsible companies in the world, each in their own sector of activity.

Air France-KLM has been committed for many years to reducing its environmental impact, developing a responsible social policy and contributing to the development of territories where its aircraft take off and land every day. In 2011, the group operated the first commercial flights using sustainable biofuel, developed eco-design and the recycling of products served on board and supported numerous humanitarian programmes.

The DJSI is a benchmark in extra-financial ratings. It selects each year the 19 leading companies from among 2,500 international companies, following an analysis process by the Swiss group SAM (Sustainable Asset Management Indexes GmbH).

The Air France-KLM group has been part of the DJSI since 2005 and is also integrated in the non-financial indexes ASPI, Ethibel Sustainabilty Index (ESI) and FTSE4Good.
