]]>Barbados is one of the largest underserved markets in the Caribbean from the Netherlands, providing travelers with a sunny destination during the winter months. Bridgetown is renowned for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and rich culture. With this flight combination, KLM is catering to the growing demand for both tourist and business destinations in the Caribbean. KLM previously operated flights to Bridgetown in the winter seasons of 2021 and 2022.

Flight Schedule
Flight KL783 departs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 09:35 from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) and arrives at 13:35 local time in Bridgetown (BGI). The flight then continues at 15:05 to Georgetown (GEO), arriving at 16:40 local time. From Georgetown, flight KL783 departs at 18:00, returning to Amsterdam at 08:00 the following day.

KLM operates this route with a Boeing 787-9. This aircraft offers 30 seats in World Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Comfort Class, and 224 seats in Economy Class.

Starting October 27 in 2024, KLM will fly three times a week during winter and five times a week during summer from Amsterdam. This is KLM’s 21st direct destination in North America.

]]>The new KLM flights will begin to operate Delta’s existing nonstop route between Portland and Amsterdam. Delta Air Lines is a partner in the trans-Atlantic joint venture with KLM. Delta Air Lines has been flying between Amsterdam and Portland for 15 years.

Flight schedule
Starting from October 27, KLM will fly three times a week on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday between Schiphol and Portland in winter. In summer 2025, KLM will fly five times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday between Schiphol and Portland. The flights are operated by the Boeing 787-9 and offer 30 seats in World Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Comfort Class, and 224 seats in Economy Class.

The winter flight schedule is as follows:

  • KL615 departs from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (code: AMS) at 10:25 a.m. and arrives at 11:25 a.m. local time at Portland International Airport (code: PDX).
  • KL616 departs from Portland International Airport at 1:25 p.m. local time and arrives the next day at 7:50 a.m. local time at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

The summer flight schedule (2025) is as follows:

  • KL615 departs from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (code: AMS) at 10:40 a.m. and arrives at 11:30 a.m. local time at Portland International Airport (code: PDX).
  • KL616 departs from Portland International Airport at 1:30 p.m. local time and arrives the next day at 7:55 a.m. local time at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

During the 2017-2018 winter season, KLM will operate three weekly flights to Mumbai, departing on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. Passengers will travel aboard the latest addition to the KLM fleet, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which has 30 World Business Class seats, 45 Economy Comfort seats and 219 Economy Class seats.

The flight will depart from Amsterdam at 13:00 hours CET, arriving in Mumbai at 01.55 hours local time. The return flight will depart from Mumbai at 04:00 hours local time, arriving in Amsterdam at 08:45 hours CET.

Direct connections between the Netherlands and India

Until Jet Airways moved its flights from Brussels to Amsterdam, from where it now operates daily services to Delhi and Mumbai, only KLM operated daily services between Amsterdam and Delhi.

Jet Airways has also recently announced that it will be commencing daily flights from Bangalore to Amsterdam.

KLM flew to Teheran from April 1948 to April 2013. Since the beginning of this year, Iran’s economy has seen considerable growth as more and more international companies initiate business there. It is just one reason why KLM has resumed service to this important Middle Eastern destination.

Last summer, KLM added a record number of new destinations to its network. Teheran is one of five new destinations that KLM will initiate when the new winter schedule goes into service. Flights to Teheran will depart every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 17.40 from Amsterdam.

The flights will be operated using an Airbus 330-200 with 18 World Business Class seats, 35 Economy Comfort seats and 214 seats in Economy Class.

]]>Available via SkyTeam’s Facebook page, the game gives globetrotters 30 seconds to correctly guess a series of three-letter airport codes that are served by SkyTeam.  Scores can then be posted on competitors’ walls, inviting their friends to see if they can do better. There is no limit to the number of times the game can be played and airport codes are selected at random each time.

]]>On KLM.com, customers can find travel inspiration in KLM’s Destination Guide. As part of KLM’s multi channel strategy, the TripShake App now offers the option to explore future destinations via a mobile phone, where and when it suits the user.


The KLM TripShake-app gives the option to select a continent and travel dates. Of course, all options can also remain open. By shaking the phone, one of over 100 destinations will appear. For more suggestions, one can shake the phone again and again, until the perfect destination has been found. Along with the destination, the lowest fare for a return flight will show. The outcome can be shared on social media or the flight can immediately be booked.

The iPhone App is available now in English, Dutch and German, and can be downloaded for free. The Android version will follow at the beginning of next week.
