For that reason KLM and MOAM, a collective of young designers to create a collection dedicated to innovation, sustainability, craftsmanship, have come together. MOAM has reworked used KLM materials and incorporated them into its unique, handmade collection. A catwalk show was held at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, last Friday to launch the collection in the presence of fashion journalists and fans.

KLM Royal Dutch Airline’s sandwiches on European routes will have new packaging from 1 June. This has been designed by students of the Kunstacademie AKV|St.Joost, Avans Hogeschool in the Netherlands. At the beginning of this year, KLM announced the competition “Delicious Art”. The students were asked to come up with a design that is culinary, surprising, inspirational and energetic, and which corresponds to KLM’s distinctively Dutch character.

In the Netherlands, KLM comprises the core of the KLM Group which further includes KLM cityhopper and transavia.com. KLM serves 135 destinations using a modern fleet of 157 aircraft and employs over 33,000 people around the world. KLM is a leader in the airline industry, which offers reliable operations and customer-oriented products resulting from its policy of enthusiasm and sustainable innovation.

KLM is a member of SkyTeam, an airline alliance offering a network of 926 destinations in more than 173 countries. The KLM network connects the Netherlands to every important economic region around the world and, as such, serves as a powerful driver for the Dutch economy.

The Netherlands is full of young, undiscovered talent. By asking students of the Kunstacademie AKV|St.Joost, Avans Hogeschool to design new sandwich packaging, we are offering young talent the opportunity to show their work to the whole world. We are thrilled that the winning designs relate so well to KLM.”

The KLM Inflight product label is called “Delicious”. This is printed on many of KLM’s Economy Class inflight products, such as snacks, meals, sandwiches and hot towels. The “Delicious Art” packaging will be used on board KLM and KLM Cityhopper European flights which last between 100 and 170 minutes. On flights shorter than 100 minutes they will be served until 09:00 hrs.

sandwich,design,european,flights,students
