KLM cancels flights due to weather conditions

Owing to a strong easterly wind, runway capacity at Schiphol is currently restricted. In addition, wintery conditions in the United Kingdom have caused airports to halt or restrict operations. As a result, various KLM flights have been delayed. At present, 39 European return flights have been cancelled as well. This number may increase during the course of the day. Passengers affected will be personally notified and rebooked onto other flights. Passengers are likely to be faced with delays for the remainder of the day. We advise our passengers to keep a close eye on KLM.com for the latest departure and arrival information.

Update: KLM Service Centers accessible again, operational systems aligned

The system disruptions caused by the power failure earlier this afternoon have been remedied. Our service centers are accessible again, both online and on the phone. Operational systems are aligned as well. What caused the failure is still unknown and is being investigated. Due to the power failure KLM was forced to cancel 34 European return flights. Affected passengers have been rebooked. Several flights were delayed. Delays may still occur during the evening. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Update KL 835 / KL836 Singapore- Denpasar- Singapore

The airport at Denpasar is currently closed due to the erupting volcano Agung. The flight segment KL 835 and KL 836, Singapore-Denpasar-Singapore, has been cancelled for both Tuesday 28 November and Wednesday 29 November. KLM has not operated flights between Singapore and Denpasar since Saturday. KLM has very strict rules regarding volcanic eruptions and does not consider it safe to approach or depart from Denpasar in the dark.

As soon as the airport at Denpasar has reopened, KLM will rebook stranded KLM passengers with destinations Denpasar/Singapore as much as possible onto its partner airlines, but only onto flights that will take off and land in daylight. The passengers who were due to depart for Denpasar from Amsterdam on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 November have been informed that their flights have been cancelled. Flights KL 835 and KL 836 Amsterdam-Singapore-Amsterdam will operate on schedule
