Negotiating results achieved with all Ground unions

Summary

KLM achieved negotiating results with all ground unions on the night of 9 to 10 April. This implies that a mutually acceptable outcome was reached after due consultation. The results of these negotiations will now be presented to the member councils of the five trade unions, who will issue their recommendations.

The lengthy and intensive negotiations resulted in a balanced package of mutually acceptable agreements for the coming 18 months (through 1 July 2016), which will contribute significantly to the objectives of the Perform 2020 programme.

For the duration of the CLA, there will be no involuntary discharges as long as the mobility instruments of the Voluntary Redundancy Plan prove to be adequate. If not, the parties will reconvene to consult.

KLM and the unions agreed that they would reconvene at a later date to discuss the remainder of the Perform period (from 1 July 2016 through 1 January 2020).

This confirms that the unions are prepared to share responsibility and hereby underscore the need to cut costs. These cost-cutting measures are essential in enabling us to keep investing in our combined future in these challenging times. I truly appreciate and respect the flexibility that everyone has shown in these demanding collective labour contract negotiations.
