KLM strengthens Africa network with relaunch to Harare

Summary

After thirteen years KLM Royal Dutch Airlines relaunched its flight to Harare. The Zimbabwean capital will be served in combination with the KLM destination Lusaka, Zambia.

In line with our strategic focus on Africa, we launched service to Luanda in Angola and Lusaka in Zambia. At the same time we consolidated our partnership with Kenya Airways. By adding Harare to our destinations, makes that KLM has a strong network and position in Africa.

As the first European carrier, KLM operates service from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to Harare International Airport. three times a week. Harare is served in combination with Lusaka, Zambia.

KLM also offers eleven weekly services to Harare via Nairobi in cooperation with Kenya Airways, which is undergoing rapid development in terms of fleet expansion and new destinations. In this way, passengers from Zimbabwe also have a good connection with KLM’s European network. 

Zimbabwe is located in Southern Africa and is a strong growth market with a wide array of natural resources. Besides its clear business potential, Zimbabwe is also a growing tourist destination. Some of the best-known attractions are the parks and nature reserves at theMana Pools  the Zambezi River and the magnificent Victoria falls.

Flight KL523 is operated with an Airbus A330-200 on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing from Schiphol at 10.20 hrs and arriving in Harare on the same day at 21.25 hrs. The return leg of the circle trip has the same number, KL523, leaving Harare at 22.30 hrs the same day, with an intermediate landing in Lusaka. The flight arrives in Amsterdam the following morning at 10.20 hrs.

Passengers flying with the SkyTeam global airline alliance have the option of using the “Go Africa Pass”. This is a cost-saving and flexible means to fly Kenya Airways throughout Africa. The “Go Africa Pass” is available to business and leisure travellers flying on an intercontinental round-trip ticket with one of the 15 SkyTeam member airlines or on a “go Round the World”  ticket.
