KLM restyles smartphone and tablet app.

Summary

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has launched a new app for iOS and Android smartphones, tablets and smartwatches. The app has a completely new and universal look and features handy new tools that make travelling even easier.

From booking a flight to checking in online, the new app now handles all these services on any device. Travellers can use the app to open their boarding pass offline to scan at the gate. KLM uses the app to update travellers on the latest relevant flight information. All of these services ensure greater comfort before, during and after a trip.

The KLM app can now be used on Android tablets and a travel inspiration section is available on both systems. Flying Blue members’ FB Miles total and membership status can now also be checked at a glance on smartphones and tablets. From April, it will even be possible to use the app to pay with FB miles for flight-related services, such as extra baggage or à la carte meals.

Airbnb has also been integrated into the app, giving travellers easy insight into accommodation at their destination. To complete the service, passengers have the option of arranging an Uber via the KLM app.

The KLM app can now be downloaded free of charge via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
