KLM Open Golf Tournament starts tomorrow

Summary

The KLM Open Golf Tournament will start tomorrow at “The Dutch” golf club in the town of Spijk. The KLM Open will run until 11 September. This is the 97th edition of the tournament and the 13th consecutive time that KLM is the title sponsor.

The four-day event will feature such golfing names as Joost Luiten, Thomas Pieters, and Chris Wood. Parallel with the golf tournament, KLM will organise a variety of seminars for its business relations – from Dutch entrepreneurs to Chinese business partners living and working in the Netherlands.

There will be even more activities alongside the tournament. The Golf Academie will offer free golf lessons and children will be able to enjoy the RAAK Golf and Amusement park. Do you prefer good food? Take a walk past the food trucks to get a surprising selection of cuisines.

A world’s first: Beat the Pro
What’s more the KLM Open is offering a world première in the form of “Beat The Pro”. For the first time in the tournament’s history, amateurs can go head-to-head with professional golfers. They will have that opportunity on two days of the tournament – on Thursday 8 September and Saturday 10 September. The event will take place at the course’s 14th hole, which will be transformed into a veritable stadium complete with stands, a bar, and live music. In contrast with standard practice on the other holes, the audience will be encouraged to cheer the pros and their competitors on as noisily as they like.
