KLM and InselAir To Initiate Code-Sharing

Summary

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and InselAir  will consolidate their cooperation with a code-sharing agreement. This will offer customers greater comfort and options, enabling them to travel to destinations served by the two partners without having to re-check luggage during the intermediate landing. In addition, flight schedules will be closely coordinated so that travel time is minimised. Passengers can book and travel via the new code-sharing agreement as of 1 December this year.

The consolidation and expansion of cooperation between KLM and InselAir enables us to establish better connections to Caribbean destinations through Curacao.
Pieter Elbers, Chief Operating Officer KLM
For quite some time, there has been a growing demand within our Pan-American network, spanning destinations in the Caribbean and South America, for services to Europe and the Far East. This agreement enables us to better accommodate this growing need and to offer passengers greater comfort and more destinations.
Albert Kluyver, Chief Executive Officer van Insel Air

The partnership between the two airlines, initiated as an interline agreement in July 2011, has been successful and therefore warrants closer cooperation in the form of code-sharing. The agreement was recently signed in Amstelveen by Albert Kluyver, CEO of InselAir, and Pieter Elbers, Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer van KLM.

According to InselAir CEO Albert Kluyver, the cooperative venture is of great value to both airlines.

During the coming months, KLM and InselAir will regularly inform passengers about the many options this code-sharing agreement has to offer now and in the future.
