KLM and vineyard De Kleine Schorre celebrate 10 years of cooperation

Summary

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and vineyard De Kleine Schorre celebrate 10 years of cooperation today. KLM first began serving wine from this prestigious Dutch vineyard on board in its World Business Class in 2006. To honour this festive occasion, KLM brought together the biggest-ever-KLM-wine-tasting panel.

The “Wine Queen” of vineyard De Kleine Schorre Nadien de Visser and the King’s Commissioner for the Province of Zeeland Han Polman were seated at the tasting table alongside KLM’s regular wine-tasting panel including professional wine connoisseurs Hubrecht Duijker, Harold Hamersma and Ronald de Groot. The panel, convened specially for the day, comprised more than 100 guests including KLM’s Frequent Flyers from the Netherlands, cabin crew members and customers of vineyard De Kleine Schorre.

During the tasting event, the panel conducted blind tests on four different wines, three of which were ultimately selected. The wines selected will be served on board in KLM’s World Business Class in 2017. They are all superb wines produced from the Pinot Blanc, Rivaner and Auxerrois grape varieties.

Experience on board
KLM has served other wines from vineyard De Kleine Schorre over the past ten years and has received numerous favourable responses. Dutch and international passengers alike appreciate these delicious wines cultivated on Dutch soil.

We are proud of our 10-year cooperation with vineyard De Kleine Schorre. Each year, the wines from De Kleine Schorre are certified and selected. The KLM wine‑tasting panel was strengthened this year by customers and cabin crew. Not only in celebration of the cooperative relationship, but to ensure that superior tasting wines will be served on board in 2017 as well

About vineyard De Kleine Schorre
With 42,000 vines stretching across 10 hectares of land, vineyard De Kleine Schorre is one of the biggest in the Netherlands. The vineyard was established in 2001 and is located in Dreischor, a traditional Zeeland circular village on the island of Schouwen-Duivenland.

We think it’s quite exceptional that such a huge, international airline like KLM serves our Dutch wines to its passengers in World Business Class. Following intensive certification this year, we will be supplying wines to KLM for the tenth consecutive year. We’re incredibly proud of this crowning achievement
Johan van de Velde, Managing Director De Kleine Schorre.
