Thereafter, the same passenger slightly injured one of the cockpit crew in one of the cabin galleys. At that point, other crew members and some fellow passengers managed to get the person in question under control.

At no time was flight safety ever at risk and the aircraft landed safely in Beijing. The flight was operated by four cockpit crew in which no fewer than two were in the cockpit at all times.

KLM crew is highly trained to handle situations of this kind. The injured crew member was treated in Beijing, is in good condition, and has since returned to the Netherlands.
